Age Verification Policy
Why does VSD Discount Store need to verify your age?
Some products we sell, including alcohol, are age-restricted. It is against the law to sell alcohol to anyone under 18, or to buy it on behalf of someone under 18. By placing an order containing alcohol you confirm that you, and the person receiving the order, are 18 or over.
How we check age
- At checkout: you must confirm you are 18 or over before you can buy age-restricted items. We may cancel and refund any order where we have reason to believe the buyer is under 18.
- On delivery - Challenge 25: orders containing alcohol must be received by an adult aged 18 or over. Our courier may ask anyone who looks under 25 for valid photo ID (passport, photocard driving licence, or a PASS-hologram card). If acceptable ID cannot be shown, the alcohol will not be handed over and will be returned to us.
- Click & collect: we operate Challenge 25 in store. If you look under 25 you will be asked for valid photo ID before we hand over alcohol.
- We will not deliver alcohol to anyone who appears to be intoxicated, or leave it in a safe place or with a neighbour without an adult present.
If an order is refused because ID was not shown, we will refund the alcohol, minus the delivery charge.
What happens to my personal data?
Your information is used only to process your order and confirm your age, and is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. We do not keep copies of ID documents.
